Mellani Day will host the event, run raffles, and do her songs(with tracks) between the sets for tear down and set up. I was thinking 30 minute sets with 10(solo)-15(band) min between. Some will take less and some will take more. The club has made it a stipulation on the event happening that we follow the time frame of 8:30-1:30. Cover: $3 w/ $5 suggested donation at the door. The bands are not getting paid, this is a fundraiser for Caring Bridge. The first 100 people to the door get a free GGMF06 CD. Sponsors: Lindsay can confirm this for everyone, but so far I believe that we can include Colorado Music Buzz and Denver Message Board as sponsors. We can use as many as we can get if anyone has anyone they would like to contact, but do it ASAP because we want to include them on the poster and the posters are being designed as we speak. Merch: As far as I know you can sell your bands merch at the show. Madalyn, could you please confirm whether or not I am correct on this please. Press Release: There is a press release already written that was written about the fest Nation Wide and can be edited for our fest. Nation's largest all-woman-artist festival will showcase best of local and regional talent in twelve cities during October, November and December Proceeds to benefit community-based CaringBridge® SUGAR LAND, TX-Madalyn Sklar, the founder of GoGirlsMusic.com, likens it to the 1996 hit, The First Wives Club. "The fiercely independent women characters proved they could do it themselves and have fun at the same time," she says, "and that's the kind of vibe we've been able to create since this festival started." The "it" is the seventh-annual GoGirlsMusicFest, a 12-city extravaganza of local and regional music performed by indie women artists. In October, November and December, the best local and regional indie women will be showcased in and around the following markets-each a top stop for women musicians and their fans: Austin, TX; Boston, MA; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Houston, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Louisville, KY; Milwaukee, WI; Nashville, TN; New York, NY (2 shows!); Philadelphia, PA; and Wilmington, NC. "At GoGirlsMusicFest, our members play their music and share information about organizations to which they feel a deep connection," said Sklar. "We speak creatively with music, and socially with information." As is its tradition, the 2006 GoGirlsMusicFest event will raise funds and awareness for one non-profit. This year's recipient is CaringBridge, which offers free, personalized websites to people who want to stay in touch with family and friends during significant life events, has been selected as this year's charity of choice. "We are thrilled to be working with CaringBridge," said Sklar. "It's particularly rewarding to raise funds and awareness for an organization that's community-based like GoGirls."
